Insider named him to their 2020 Doers List, recognizing "trailblazers creating hope and inspiring us." He is the author of Renegades: Digital Dance Cultures from Dubsmash to TikTok (Oxford UP) and editor of TikTok Cultures in the United States (Routledge). Boffone is co-author of Latinx Teens: US Popular Culture on the Page, Stage & Screen (Arizona UP). He is the co-editor of Shakespeare and Latinidad; Encuentro: Latinx Performance for the New American Theater; Seeking Common Ground: Latinx and Latin American Theatre and Performance; and Nerds, Goths, Geeks, and Freaks: Outsiders in Chicanx and Latinx Young Adult Literature. Dr. Boffone is a scholar and public intellectual whose commentary on race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, and community in theatre and performance has appeared in American Theater Magazine, Theatre Journal, Latin American Theatre Review, HowlRound, Arts+Culture Texas, and Houston Press, among other publications.

is an Assistant Professor of Theatre at the University at Buffalo. Her forthcoming monograph (Theatres of Value: Buying and Selling Shakespeare in New York's Nineteenth Century; SUNY Press; July, 2024) considers the commodification and economization of Shakespeare’s work in America’s nineteenth century. Danielle's interest in the digital has fueled past work on database methodologies in humanist text, social media, and the personification of Shakespeare by performers/users. Publications include "The Haunted Network: Shakespeare's Digital Ghost" (The Shakespeare User), "Reading Romeo, A Research Guide to Romeo and Juliet" (Fight Master Magazine), "One Summer, Three Hamlets: a Practical Guide to Flow Fight Direction" (Theatre Topics), “Sifting and Sorting: An Introduction to Database Methods and Pedagogy using Humanist Texts” (Early Modern Studies Journal), and “What Comes Next? Graduate Education and Contingent Labor in Theatre and Performance Studies.” (Theatre Topics). She is the co-editor of Early Modern Liveness (Bloomsbury), and the forthcoming special issue of Shakespeare dedicated to contingency titled "Inessential Shakespeares: Contingency, Necessity, and Marginalization in Early Modern Drama."
